I think the video tutorial about the space ship helped me the most. I think this because in that video it showed you how to do a lot of things with just one primitive, it showed me how to use the mirror tool so the ship would be even. This tutorial will help me in the future because I can look back and use the mirror tool so I don't have to try to make another side look they same as the other. It will help me use my perspective and be more creative.
The knowledge I have gained in class was how to use Adobe Illustrator better and different paint tool and opacity to help me color my project. I have not really learned anything outside of class everything I have learned was in class. Using the pen helped me make a galaxy theme space for the UI of the spaceship. I made it by changing the flow of the pen and the opacity, so when I would put the colors over each other it would blend in and make sort of a purplish blue color. I then I added stars and used the blur tool to make it look like the stars are shining.
Some techniques that I have learned in class that have come in handy is the magic wand tool. It helps me outline the image so when I color in it it won't go over the lines. Also another thing is the opacity of the colors because now when I color an image with lines I don't have to trace over them now. Some skills I have picked up outside of class is the color mask, but I don't use that very often. I don't really have a software preference because I don't draw. But if i had to choose I would choose photoshop because I like to edit peoples pictures. I suck at editing pictures but it's fun to do.
My favorite color is black. What the color black says about me is that I have no soul. The color black also appeals to me. It appeals to me because it is a very dark color and I am a dark person on the inside, also black goes with everything and I can adapt to a lot of different situations. This color matters to me because it is awesome because not a lot of people like that the color black and it is different and I am a different person I am not like everyone else. The survey said about my personality is that I am a kind person and that my motive is peace, which is quite the opposite of black. It does not truly describe me because I am a changed person and I am dark.
The thing I found the most interesting on the sensortag was the luxometer. It measured how much light there was. So if you put it close to the computer screen the measurement would go up. You could use the temperature measurement to measure the temperature of the class with or without students. You could manipulate the data in the spreadsheet by using a formula. It'll help you get answers without having to to type it over and over again. I would use a line chart, because it shows a change in trend over time. Data visualization is important to me because it helps me understand what people are talking about in their presentation. I have a short attention span so having pictures and color will help me focus more. As a student yes there are visualization techniques to make changes in the school and maybe the nation. I could make a chart showing how bullied kids are more likely to to commit suicide and then people will see the posters and they might stop bullying kids because they don't want to be the cause of why they killed themselves. I would try to change how people are treated in school. I would try to put up posters for meetings and make the posters easier to retain information and that would make people come to the meetings and stop bullying.
Copyright laws affect the artistic integrity because it's really hard to have an original drawing of a lot of things is copyrighted. That means that you could easily be sued for accidentally using the same logo as someone else. Also big name companies don't care if it was an accident they just all the money they can get. Also copyright is important for someone who has a lot of creativity because someone could easily steal their artwork and claim it as their own. I don't think it should be changed, I just think they shouldn't be so harsh on the people they do punish because billions of people do they same thing, so therefore it's not that serious.
Colin Dwan was telling us about his journey to become a game designer. He basically told us that it was really hard and a lot of ups and downs, like trying to find the funding to even start his company. What I learned about working as a game designer is that it takes a lot of hard work, patience, and dedication. He made it seem like being a game designer is struggle. Yes, his presentation made me look at being a game designer from a different perspective. I never wanted to be a game designer or even have a career in game design it is just not my thing, I just like playing video games and plus its too much work for a little amount of money.
Richard White was mostly talking about how things go in the film industry, like how they set everything up using computer animation and storyboards to get a preview of of how things would look. He also told us about how green screens are a big factor in the film industry because most movies use green screens. I think computer animation is used in sci vis and in the film industry because Richard showed us an animated version of scene from 300 Rise of a empire. Also there was storyboards which incorporated sketches of the scenes and in sci vis you to make sketches of how you would want something to look.

Three different visualization techniques that I found interesting is the Hieroglyphics, perspective drawing, and the camera. I found hieroglyphics interesting because they had to know what meant what and not get them them mixed up. It must have have been really time consuming to have to draw everything. Perspective drawing was cool because everything was more realistic. The drawings looked a lot better. Perspective drawing started in an era of new ideas and that style of drawing was one of them. The invention of the camera was interesting too because back then people had to have a real good understanding of physics of light to capture the images. Some new things I learned about visualization techniques, is the amount of patience and skills needed to perfect those techniques. |
